Tokyo Sky Tree: World's Tallest Tower

July 8, 2012

An itinerary to Tokyo Sky Tree is a must for a trip to Japan! However, we went to the world's tallest tower accepting the reality that we won’t be able to go up at least  350m (higher deck @ 450m) above the ground to the observation decks. We went there last July 8 and the tower opened in May 22, 2012 (less than 2months of operation). However, the observation decks were already reserved until July 11. Yes,  just 3 days, we were just ahead for 3days..

Tokyo Sky Tree (634m):
It is the tallest broadcasting tower in the world and the 2nd tallest structure after Burj Khalifa (828.9m) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Aside from its observation deck at the 350th flr & 450th flr., it is also a broadcasting and communication tower for TV and radio companies in Japan.

Mandatory photo! yay!

As mentioned, we weren't able to go up but, nonetheless, we still enjoyed our trip there:
THE Sky Tree
Another mandatory shot. HAHA!

The Sky Tree vicinity has more to offer than the tower that stands way higher than all the other buildings in the area and even in Japan. In fact, it's the highest tower in Japan. A mall and a train station were built together with the tower for tourists to conveniently go the attraction and enjoy. There are hundreds of restaurants and shops in the area too making it the Tokyo Sky Tree town from its former feel of laidback Tokyo.

And since it was still the 1st few weeks of operation, there are still a lot of activities at the foot of the tower. There were even street performances that were watched by hundreds of tourists in the area. Travel Tip: the mall has a dedicated souvenir shop: The Sky Tree Shop! In case you didn’t buy in the observation deck areas.

You can only buy the Sky Tree Tembo Galleria (450th flr) in the Sky Tree Tembo Deck (350th flr) so you can decide from there whether you want to go further. As I’ve mentioned earlier I haven’t been to any of the two observation decks but surely go to the observation decks once I get a chance to visit Japan again.
